Project 1 Chinook.2.jpg

The first thing i would like to point out about my project is that it’s an ad for the Chinook. The reason being is that since its my main building to workout at, i thought i could honor it in form of a project. Since the Chinook has many functions i decided to just focus on the workout aspect. Which is why i chose these workout rooms;Cardio, boxing, and weight room. The reason i chose these rooms is because they are unique and are the main spots i use.

For the whole project i decided to use my own pictures because since i was working out there, i might as well take my own photos. Originally for each room i cropped them using the elliptical marquee so that they looked like bubbles. I later changed them to squares because i wanted to fill the space in the corners cause they were just an eye soar. On the edge of each square room i decided to round them by using the eraser tool. It proved difficult because i had to free hand each corner on a pixel level, which took 3 minutes per room. What i also changed was the text “its not just a building, its a lifestyle” and turned it into a 3-d text. I did this because just having a plain text in the sky just seemed boring, and i wanted something a bit more. The one thing i dislike about it is the color, i wanted the text to be a darker red but the rendering said it would take 1.5 hours so just left it be. The last thing i changed of each room was the vibrancy because they all seemed to lack color. What i did for each room was change the vibrancy to +35 and the saturation to +25 so the colors would pop out a bit more and give it that “fun” vibe.

Overall i really enjoyed the creative process of taking my own photos and turning them into a meaningful ad about the Chinook.  The main thing i learned from this project is the balance between the size of the rooms in relation to the Chinook, because on my draft the bubble rooms took away from the main subject.
